JNU Student Commits Suicide Hailing From Tamil Nadu The 27-years-old JNU student ends his life on Monday. It is another shocking incident in Jawaharlal Nehru University. Fourteen months after the suicide of Hyderabad University research scholar and Rohith Vemula one more dalit student who participated in the protest found hanged. He was found dead at his friends’ house near the University. Muthukrishnan hailed from Salem, Tamil Nadu was enrolled for M Phil in JNU. Police says he had committed suicide due to his personal reasons. J Muthukrishnan was visiting his friend’s house in Munirka Vihar on Monday. After lunch he had locked himself in a room saying he wanted to sleep. When his friends called him he did not open the door. After informing to Police they rushed to the spot and opened the door. In his Facebook post he made several allegations of inequality. His last words on Facebook were “When equality is denied everything is denied.” “There is no equality in M.phil/PhD Admission, there is no equality in Viva–voce, there is only denial of equality, denying Professor Sukhadeo Thorat recommendation, denying students protest places in Ad–block, denying the education of the marginals. Jallikattu Organized in Tamil Nadu After the Jallikattu passed on Monday on Jan 23, bull taming sport is conducted in various villagers. The sport will be organized in some famous places like Alanganallur and Palamedu in Feb 10th and Feb 9th respectively. Meanwhile on Sunday some places like Karungulam village witnessed jallikattu after 2 years. The rules are strictly followed during the sport. Some bull tamers were disqualified after they overcoming the rules that to be followed. Some caught the bull’s neck instead of holding the hump. Collector Palanisamy stood as referee in the event. Safety measures were taken and there were 500 police supervising the event. There were at least 350 bull tamers participated and around 20000 people from districts nearby were watching the sport. The hospital in-charge had released the treatment he is undergoing in the hospital. He was readmitted in hospital and given Tracheostomy to aid his breath.
