Alanganallur Jallikattu Happening Today After the huge protest for jallikattu, finally youngsters and students achieved success and brought an emergency permanent law to conduct jallikattu in the state. Chief Minister O Pannerselvam took initiative to bring the law to the state after consulting PM Modi and law experts. Jallikattu had been conducted in various parts of the state and finally the famous Alanganallur jallikattu is being conducted today. About 950 bulls and 1650 hull tamers are participating in the sport. Nearly 2500 police cops are deployed for the security purpose. Central Minister Pon Radhakrishnan is monitoring the sport. Jallikattu Organized in Tamil Nadu After the Jallikattu passed on Monday on Jan 23, bull taming sport is conducted in various villagers. The sport will be organized in some famous places like Alanganallur and Palamedu in Feb 10th and Feb 9th respectively. Meanwhile on Sunday some places like Karungulam village witnessed jallikattu after 2 years. The rules are strictly followed during the sport. Some bull tamers were disqualified after they overcoming the rules that to be followed. Some caught the bull’s neck instead of holding the hump. Collector Palanisamy stood as referee in the event. Safety measures were taken and there were 500 police supervising the event. There were at least 350 bull tamers participated and around 20000 people from districts nearby were watching the sport. TN Cyclist Lakshmi Thangadurai Qualified For National Event Lakshmi Thangadurai from Chennai, Tamil Nadu will represent the state in national level cycling championship. The meet will be held on the first week of November in Uttar Pradesh. She had won 40kms Road race that held at Rameshwaram and qualified for the national level competition. The 24-year-old cyclist had won gold in this recently conducted state meet at Ramanathapuram. She lives in Panaiyur, ECR road, Chennai.
