Music Director James Vasanthan shared an idea of boycotting IPL match on April 10 at MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai when Cauvery issue protests are rising in TamilNadu. The idea is going viral on social media as it would definitely seek an international attention.
In addition to him, the director Bharathiraja criticized the Central Government in a press meet by stating "we didn't respond when they destroyed our race and we remained silent when they destroyed our language and we are fighting now when they are taking away our rights".
The ace director called IPL as a foolish game and it would spoil our unity in getting our rights. Referring to the Jallikatu protests in 2017, the Cauvery issue has also be considered as our right. He also stated, "If IPL takes place, our Jallikattu youngsters will fight with bulls".
Meanwhile, Tamil actor and Padmashree awardee Vivek in his Twitter page asked the youngsters in Tamil Nadu to contribute to the livelihood struggles of Cauvery and Sterlite rather than focusing on Cinema, Cricket, Individual man praise and others.
Also, Tamilnadu Opposition political leaders including Thirumavalavan, Velmurugan, social activist Thirumurugan Gandhi called for a ban of IPL matches in Chennai.
