Five Years Jail If One Caught With More Than One Liquor Bottle.
The Uttar Pradesh Government had amended a new law for the residents of Ghaziabad and Greater Noida, the two border cities of UP that lies near the border of National capital region Delhi.
Aditya Nath lead UP government had ordered that no residents of Noida and Ghaziabad allowed to bring in more than one sealed liquor bottles from NCR. The Government had passed the amendment according to the Excise law of 1910 from April 1, 2018.
According to the reports of Ghaziabad district Excise officials if anyone found stepping in with more than one unit of liquor bottle from the neighbouring state that it the person will be subjected to the charges of smuggling liquors from the other state for the retailing purpose. The person will be fined up to Rs.5000 and may face the jail sentence for nearly five years period.
This new law enacted by the UP government brought a little shock in the hearts of alcohol lovers who used to make many bottles from the NCR as the close border vends in the capitol retails them for a cheaper price. Apart from the genuine residents of Ghaziabad and Noida some miscreants of those cities used to bye bottles from Delhi and retail them in UP for a huge gain. Now the new law expected to sting them hard as possible.
Along with the law over the liquor smuggling, the government had also revised the time of opening and closing of liquor shops in the state. The government had reduced the working time of LIquor shops from the new revision. According to the newly revised time chart, the shops should be opened at 12 noon and must be closed at 10 pm exactly.
This action of the UP government had brought so many applause from the residents of Greater Noida and Ghaziabad.
