Chief Minister Jayalalitha announced on Monday (14.09.2015) to provide Internet Service to all the households in Tamilnadu by the ISP license obtained by the Tamilnadu Arasu Cable TV Operation.
Chief Minister announced Rs. 3000 crores were allocated for the project. Tamilnadu FiberNet Corporation implement Central Government Bharatnet scheme to every villages in Tamilnadu.
She said 12,524 villages in Tamilnadu will be connected with optical fibre. This makes the villagers aware of the government schemes and various service provided will be available at their homes.
When Bharatnet scheme was announced, she said the scheme would be implemented in Tamilnadu. As per that scheme Tamilnadu Government links all the village panchayat in Tamilnadu. This scheme provides quality service of High speed broadband connection at affordable rate.
Various other announcements were also made by her including special wheelchair for persons suffering from spinal cord disease and injuries and building school for deaf in Pudukottai district.
Special wheelchair was designed for the people who have illness in spinal cord. It will be distributed to 960 people across Tamilnadu. Each district selects 30 persons and they get this special wheelchair each cost about Rs.20000 and it cost the government Rs.1.92 crores.
CM also announced Rs. One crore will be allocated for constructing the new building for school for deaf in Pudukkotai district.

CM Ms Jayalalitha announced on Tuesday that world class central square in Chennai and series of housing projects across Tamilnadu.
Over 5000 houses will be constructed across the state for lower and middle income group people in an estimated cost of about Rs. 1700 crores.
'I am happy to announce that the areas around Rippon building, suburban railway terminal, Chennai Central railway station, Victoria Hall, government hospital, MRTS station and others will be developed as a world-class Central Square,' she said in the assembly.
In an estimated budget of about Rs. 400 crores will be provided by Tamilnadu Metro Rail Corporation.
