Diamond Worth Ten crore Seized By The ED From Nirav Modi Flat

ED seized antique Jewellery and costly watches from Nirav Modi Apartment.

According to the report from the ED, the department had already noticed the Interpol for issuing an International Warrant for Nirav Modi and his uncle Mehul checks in February. The ED had made the action after those two were not made into India again even though they have been summoned by the Indian Government for their main role in Rs. 12,000 crore fraud in the Punjab National Bank.

Previously the ED had seized around Rs.7,000 cores of the depts by sealing the properties of Nirav Modi. On Wednesday the Enforcement Directorate joined its hands with the CBI and raided Nirav Modi's a sea-facing luxury residential flat at Worli Area of Mumbai.

The ED said that they have seized antique jewellery like classic diamonds and also seized a lone diamond stone that worth Rs. 10 crores. Costly watches that worth around Rs.1.5 crores and paintings of Amrita Sher Gil and K.K Hebbar that valued around 10 crores.

Nirav Modi a Mumbai Based Diamond Businessman and his Uncle Mehul Choksi and their family flew away from the country earlier this year after defrauding Punjab National bank up to 13,000 crores since 2011. 

PNB had filed a case against Nirav Modi and Mehul Choksi initially and later the CBI summoned both of them to make their presence before the ED. But Mehul Choksi denied the summon to India again by citing his health condition.

Two months have been swept away since the news surfed the air but still, the ED and the CBI are trying to get Nirav Modi and Choksi back to India. Now the Ed reached Interpol for help.
