Today on 9th September Global Investors Meet (GIM) will be held as a two days event at The Chennai Trade Center Convention Hall.
The government says this meet draws investment that generates jobs for the state. It expects 1 lakh crores investment from the Foreign and Indian companies which will rise the state economy. The investment has key focus on industries like automobiles, telecom, electronics, pharmaceuticals manufacturing and services.
Around 3000 delegates from India and Foreign companies have signed. Government had 9 partner countries including Japan, UK, Canada, France, Italy, Australia, Korea, Russia and Singapore. 30 non-partner countries have also sent their delegates to participate in the event.
The Trade Hall is waiting for the inauguration of GIM 2015 in the morning. The delegates arrived one by one on the venue. The old investors like Mahindra Group chairman Anand Mahindra arrived as the ambassador and to give testimonials benefits of investing in Tamilnadu to the new investors.
Our honorable CM Jayalalitha has inaugurated the event at 11:00 am. There was a 3D presentation about the development of the state and show the state as the home and hub for the industry development.
HCL founder Mr. Shiv Nadar addresses the audience. He said this was his native and there are about 35000 employees from Tamilnadu in this company. They have planned Madurai expansion and allocated Rs. 100 crores to invest in South Tamilnadu.
Tamilnadu Industries minister Thangamani, Union minister of state for Road Transport Pon Radhakrishnan addresses the audience. Union minister of commerce and industry Nirmala Sitharaman delivered special address. She highlights the points in which the state had shown the development.
Honorable CM Jayalalitha delivered her delightful speech to the audience and attracts the investors.
The state like Gujarat, Rajasthan and West Bengal are considered competitors and this event is crucial to the state.
Indian Big industrialist like ICICI bank chief Chanda Kochhar, Indian Oil Corporation head Ashok, MD of TVS motor company, MRF tyres MD , JK tyres chairman Raghupathi Singhania, JSW group chairman Sanjjan Jindal, Welspun group MD BK Goenka have attended the event.
