Jayalalitha extends 10 Lakh to veteran musician Govardhan

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J Jayalalitha extended help to yesteryear music director Govardhan (88) who is financially suffering. The 10 lakhs fund will be deposited in his account and the monthly interest amount of nearly 8000 will reach the musician. She also rendered help to his hospital expenditure. She had granted this fund from Dr MGR trust of her party.

She directed that Govardhan should be given medical aid for his hearing impaired at the government hospital. Govardhan who is currently living in Salem with his wife has no income. He is in poor economic status and sought assistance from the government.

Govardhan had composed popular evergreen melodies. He is one of the best composers in the Tamil film history. Anjal Petti 520, Poovum Pottum, Pattanathil Bootham, Varaprasadam, Porchilai are some of the movies he tuned. Nagaswara Osaiyilae, Andha Sivagami maganidam, Kanne Kandadellam Saatchiya, Akkaraiyil avar irukka, Gangai nadhi oram Raman nadandhan, Pathu Padhinaru Mutham, Unnazhagai Kandu Kondaal, Naan yaar yaarendru sollavillai are some of the popular melodies he had given.

Yesterday she also seek help from Prime Minister Narendra Modi to get back 15 fisher men who were arrested in Sri Lanka. Among 15, four of them were held one day before including 91 boats by Sri Lanka.

Two days back she showed her gratitude to the people of RK Nagar for giving her huge victory in last month held election. She had visited people of RK Nagar and said she will fulfill the manifesto promises.
