Jayalalitha Trip to Delhi BJP seeks Alliance with AIADMK

Jayalalitha arrived at Delhi on Tuesday, met Prime Minister Narendra Modi and submitted 94 pages memorandum. She met Modi in his residence and gave the memorandum. She gives 29 point memorandum to Prime Minister that includes preventing Karnataka from dam across Mekedatu, resume jallikattu, protection of traditional fishing rights and fishermen and others. The meeting lasted for 50 minutes and Prime Minister assured for an early action of these issues stated in memorandum.

The urgent clearance of the 29 key issues is stated by the Chief Minister in the memorandum. It includes inter-state water resource issues, protection of Indian fishermen in Palk Bay. CM sought immediate assistance from center regarding these issues. For reviving the electronic manufacturing hub at Sriperunbudhur by clearing the issues of Nokia plant. She urged for the further assistance for Chennai flood rehabilitation works and reconstruction of flood damages. Gail issues, pending project of Chennai metro rail, rural development, textile sector issues, health sector related to NEET, school education and others were raised in the memorandum.

Chief Minister also met central minister Nirmala Seetharaman, Pon Radhakrishnan at Tamil Nadu residence in New Delhi. This is the first trip of Jayalalitha to Delhi after creating history by becoming second time consecutive Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu in recent election. The senior leader of AIADMK told the media that NDA seeks AIADMK alliance for the support in Rajya Sabha and for the municipal elections which will be held in Tamil Nadu later this year.
