Karunanidhi Hospitalized Undergoing Tracheostomy
DMK chief M. Karunanidhi was hospitalized in Kauvery hospital at midnight. The hospital in-charge had released the treatment he is undergoing in the hospital. He was readmitted in hospital and given Tracheostomy to aid his breath. He is suffering from breathing difficulties due to throat and lung infection. He is treated by team of doctors who has been admitted on Dec 15th.
Kauvery hospital press release stated 'Dr. Kalaignar M.Karunanidhi readmitted at Kauvery Hospital, Alwarpet, Chennai on 15th December 2016 with breathing difficulty die to throat and lung infections, has undergone Tracheostomy to optimise breathing. He is stable, on antibiotics and is being treated by a team of doctors.'
He was admitted in same hospital and treated for drug allergies and dehydration a week before. During tracheostomy a tube is inserted to relieve an obstruction to breathing. The 92-year-old politician and former Tamil Nadu Chief Minister is suffering from various illness in recent years.
