Kathiramangalam Protest: 7 Years Old became Heart Patient due to poisonous drinking water
A lady in the village says to the popular channel that her son became heart patient due to poisonous chemicals in the drinking water. She says she has proof of it. The test report says her 7-years-old son has 800 percent toxic chemicals and it was due to the water. She alleges it was only due to the ONGC. Even the adults are affected by drinking this water. She does not want this to continue to other children in the village.
People say village water level is dropped extensively. The ground water they are getting is also contaminated with oil and other toxic substances.
Meantime the village is surrounded by police force and they had earlier done lathi charge on the people protesting against ONCG. One of the people in the village say they are not allowed to carry the protest. They are getting direct threat from supporters of ONGC. People claim collector had arrived at the spot after the lathi charge. They are waiting to see collector till morning and collector appeared at the spot after disposing the people. So they do want to meet collector any more.
The nine protesters were arrested by police and several people injured in lathi charge. Chief Minister Edappadi Palanisamy said police arrested only the people who involved in violence. CM blames Kathiramangalam people for indulging in violence after the leakage of ONGC pipeline.
People claim it was only police who set fire aside to dissolve the protesters. They say they were only involved in silent protest. Neduvasal and Kathiramangalam protest are continuing and people are anger with the state government that is not taking necessary steps for those people's welfare.
