ADMK MPs have been raising this issue in both the houses of the Parliament since the first day of the session. Meanwhile, Tamil Nadu Deputy Cheif Minister O Pannerselvam has slammed the Centre for its betrayal to Tamil people and Justice. To condemn the Centre's activities in the Cauvery issue, he announced that ADMK will go on a hunger strike on April 2. Later it is postponed to April 3 on Tuesday fasting from morning 8 AM to evening 5 PM on all district headquarters of Tamil Nadu. Also, the State Government has recently filed a contempt petition in Supreme Cout against the Centre for its failure in forming Cauvery Management Board (CMB).

DMK chief and Opposition Leader Stalin has recently warned both the Centre and State Govt to take necessary steps in the Cauvery issue. DMK has also called for All Party Conference on April 1 to discuss the Cauvery issue and take further action. The party has also decided to wave black flags against Narendra Modi visit to Tamil Nadu on April 11.

Meanwhile, Pattali Makkal Katchi (PMK) leader Ramadoss and his son Anbumani have hoisted black flags at their residences. Anbumani also attended Farmers meeting held in Chennai.

MDMK general secretary Vaiko said that the entire state is fighting with unity in the Cauvery Issue to get their basic need of water from Cauvery. He also suggested the State Government, instead of filing a contempt petition in SC, shall refer the Cauvery issue to Supreme Court and that may lead to any positive result.

Tamil Nadu Congress Committe President S Thirunavukkarasar had met Governor Banwarilal Purohit to bring to his knowledge regarding the burning issue in the state after Centre's failure in setting up the CMB within the deadline. He also recommended the Governor to inform the matter to the Centre.
