Tamil Nadu Chief Minister O Paneerselvam meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi today seeking the lift Jallikattu ban and end the massive protest. Prime Minister said it was imposed by SC and it has come up for discussion. He said Centre would be supportive of the steps taken by the State Government. He assured assistance to the state to address the drought situation. The team will be deputed to Tamil Nadu shortly regarding it.

 

The protest in Tamil Nadu is becoming much stronger than ever. As a fourth day youngsters and students are still continuing their protest in Alanganallur and Marina beach. The protest broke out in several places across the state including Coimbatore, Erode, Theni and other regions. Various film and other field celebrities give voice for the protest and some were directly involved in the protest.

In practical, it is said the Center cannot take legal action currently and said it will support the action taken by the state. Now it is time for state government to take necessary steps to support Jallikattu.
