TN NEET Counselling Merit List
Tamil Nadu had released the merit list of students based on NEET for the admission of MBBS and BDS in the colleges. The case was claiming the court to give exemption for Tamil Nadu in NEET exam. The Supreme Court directed Tamil Nadu to do MBBS/BDS admission based on NEET marks. The court said there is no ordinance in the pipeline to exempt Tamil Nadu from NEET.
As per the result, 13 students were from CBSE, 2 students from ICSE and 5 students from State board are among top 20. Among 3,534 seats under government quota 2,224 seats will be allocated for the students from Tamil Nadu State board. It is happy news for NEET aspirants and some set of people. Some group of people support NEET as the quality of education would be raised.
There is a huge agitation against the government to get seats based on NEET. “DMK government had not allowed NEET in the state when it is in governance,” says MK Stalin, the opposition party leader in the state.
Counseling for special category will begin on 11 am on Thursday. There are 1,198 seats under government quota. In self financing colleges there are 592 management seats in medical colleges and 715 seats in SFI dental colleges.
