PM Narendra Modi BRICS - BIMSTEC Summit in Goa
BRICS countries leaders have gathered for BIMSTEC summit yesterday at Goa. These leaders discussed about the regional and global issues during the summit. Before staring the meet leaders observed one minute silence in memory of late King of Thailand.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed the summit. He had stated we have to work together in environment and disaster management.
'There are many economic opportunities. We have shared aspirations for growth, development, commerce and technology. Technology can bridge gaps and connect communities. It can also deliver services that make a difference in our daily lives,' Modi stated.
Modi described Pakistan as the 'mother ship' of terrorism without stating its name in the presence of Chinese President Xi Jinping.
'Brics Nations have been a voice for peace, reform, reason and purposeful action. We have built new global institution to complement the existing architecture. The growing arc of terrorism today threatens Middle East, Wesr Asia, Europe and South Asia.' Prime Minister Modi addressed.
Today Modi had joint press meet with President of Brazil Michel Temer. Prime Minister said 'This visit takes place as both countries mark a decade of our strategic partnership. The bilateral relations between India and Brazil have grown for the better. We have increased interaction at all levels.'
Bilateral investment agreement between India and Brazil are close to finalizing the text. Modi appreciates Brazil's support for India in combating terrorism. Progresses are also made in new areas like drug regulation, agricultural research & cyber security in this visit.
