In India, the 17th parliamentary election is going on with seven phases and in the second phase, polling was held on 18th of this month in Tamil Nadu. On that day, people of Tamil Nadu voted for their respective candidates and some celebrities complained that their names were missing in the voter list. Among those actors is Sivakarthikeyan who was not allowed to vote due to this reason initially.
Sivakarthikeyan, who went to vote at eight o'clock on the morning of 18th morning, was informed that his name is not found in the electoral list. Following a two-hour discussion, Sivakarthikeyan was allowed to vote after getting his fingerprints and signature and the name of the Sivakarthikeyan was written on the electoral roll in the South Chennai constituency. Officials said that he was allowed to vote because his name was found in the deleted names from the voters' list.
Actor Sivakarthikeyan, who was allowed to vote despite he is not named in the electoral roll raised many arguments and controversies. The Chief Electoral Officer, who met the reporters in this regard, said that the investigation was underway and action would be taken on the officer who allowed Sivakarthikeyan to vote him without his name on the voter list. He also added that Sivakarthikeyan's recorded vote would be considered an invalid and that the inquiry would be held on the employees.
