After the Jallikattu passed on Monday on Jan 23, bull taming sport is conducted in various villagers. The sport will be organized in some famous places like Alanganallur and Palamedu in Feb 10th and Feb 9th respectively.
Meanwhile on Sunday some places like Karungulam village witnessed jallikattu after 2 years. The rules are strictly followed during the sport. Some bull tamers were disqualified after they overcoming the rules that to be followed. Some caught the bull’s neck instead of holding the hump. Collector Palanisamy stood as referee in the event. Safety measures were taken and there were 500 police supervising the event.
There were at least 350 bull tamers participated and around 20000 people from districts nearby were watching the sport. It has been organised well by the committees headed by villagers. It was reported about 37 tamers got injured during the event.
Likewise the popular Alanganallur and Palamedu jallikattu is to happen in the February. President Pranab Mukherjee today signed the law passed by Tamil Nadu government on Jallikattu.
Meantime Madras High Court today issued notice to the Tamil Nadu Home Secretary and DGP regarding the petition seeking the justice for allegedly police dispersing the protesters in various parts of the state including Chennai, Coimbatore, Alanganallur and other places. 48 people were arrested and kept in custody during the protest.
