26 patients charred to death due to the massive fire broke out in a rehabilitation centre.
A massive fire broke out in a rehabilitation centre at Bakhu capital of Azerbaijan. Official reports said at least 26 have been killed in the blaze which broke out in the early morning of Friday, March 2, 2018.
A private news agency reported that the fire broke out from the clinic of the rehabilitation centre around dawn and extended its connection through windows to the next floor of the centre. The fire rescue team had reached the spot as soon as they get the information of the blaze and took the flames under control around 8:30 AM.
The reports also suggesting that the death toll was almost 30 where it was officially reported as 26 by the health ministry of the state. It also reported that the rescue team had very hard actions over the fire to be doused as the fire become more intense than expected. The investigation officials have been deployed to investigate the cause of the fire and its total damage.
The local news agency of the country reported that there is a fear overwhelming, that the death toll may raise, where the rescue team had rescued four persons from the blaze and admitted in the hospital with extreme burn injuries on them.
The fire broke out in a rehabilitation centre had created a huge negative hope among the people over the government. But the government of Azerbaijan is pouring its maximum efforts to control drugs and its illegal use in the country. Last year in November, Azerbaijan had signed a treaty with Russia to involve in the counter-terrorism and illegal inter-border drug trafficking.
