PM Modi’s International Solar Alliance Gets Support Globally
Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s initiative of International Solar Alliance gets the global support from various countries.
Over 20 countries including India, Brazil and France have signed the framework agreement of International Solar Alliance. India will be a head quarter for ISA said Environment Minister Anil Madhav Dave. The experts said it is a good initiative that will make cost effective and quality solar energy for developing nations.
ISA was launched at the UN climate change conference in Paris on 30th November 2015. As per the government the ISA will create a common buyers’ market for solar finance, technology, innovation and capacity building that will lead to higher quality, lower costs, products better tailored to needs, collaborative innovation, and technology ownership.
ISAs mission is to provide a platform for cooperation among solar resource rich countries where global community including bilateral and multilateral organizations, corporate, industry, and stakeholders can make a positive contribution to the common goals of increasing utilizing of solar energy in meeting energy needs of ISA member countries in a safe, convenient, affordable, equitable and sustainable manner.
There is an extensive growth of this project after conducting its firs meeting n December 2015. The Steering Committee of the International Solar Alliance, open to all member countries, held its first meeting on 1 December 2015. India, represented by Shri Upendra Tripathy Secretary and Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE). Until September 2016 seven meeting were conducted by ISA.
