PM Narendra Modi on Vietnam Tour

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has been warmly welcome by Vietnamese. He had fruitful discussion with Vietnam Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc. They had talks about enhancing India-Vietnam relations. Both leaders had agreed for the bilateral engagement on stability, security and prosperity. Security and defence engagement between the countries are also held on extensive deliberations.

Prime Minister said India is ready to partner with Vietnam as it undergoes rapid and strong economic growth.

PM has also shared 'Advent of Buddhism from India to Vietnam and the monuments of Vietnam's Hindu Cham temples stand testimony to these bonds. The bravery of the Vietnamese people in gaining independence from colonial rule has been a true inspiration. Our decision to upgrade strategic partnership to comprehensive strategic partnership captures intent & push of our future cooperation. Vietnam is undergoing rapid development & strong economic growth. India stands ready to be a partner and a friend in this journey.'

Prime Minister also reminded Vietnam India relationship back about 2000 years. He stated 'The advent of Buddhism from India to Vietnam and the monuments of Vietnam's Hindu Cham temples stand testimony to these bonds. For people of my generation, Vietnam holds a special place in our hearts.'

Modi had visited Quan Su Pagoda and had great interaction with venerable monks today. He thanked Vietnam for its warm welcome and very good caring.
