Revenue Shortfall in Tamil Nadu says Finance Minister

Tamil Nadu state budget gathering was held today. Finance Minister O. Panneer Selvam said there was a huge shortfall of revenue against the expenditure of about 9,154.78 crores.

In the budget session held on Tuesday Panneer Selvam said the total revenue is about 1,52,004.23 crores while the expenditure is estimated of about 1,61,159.01 crores. He said there is a significant fall in the state's revenue. The government blames on the stable fall of crude oil prices and because of tax-relaxation of petroleum based products.

The expenditures on implementation of state welfare schemes is one of the reasons of the shortfall says Panneer Selvam. He said the government is making necessary steps for the growth of economy of the state. He also added the drastic deficit is unavoidable.

The opposite parties tried to raises questions against the speech related to various issues. The members of the opposite parties including DMK have walked out when permission denied raising the issues.

Minister Panneer Selvam explained elaborately about welfare schemes of the state government and also funds allocated for all the schemes. The budget session meet will continue for 4 days until February 20th.

சாலை திட்டத்திற்கு 2,013 கோடி நிதி ஒதுக்கீடு, வீட்டுவசதி வாரியத்துறைக்கு ரூ.689 கோடி ஒதுக்கீடு - நிதியமைச்சர் ஒ. பன்னீர்செல்வம்.

அரசு அலுவலர்கள், ஓய்வூதியர்கள் நலனுக்காக ரூ. 19,841 கோடி ஒதுக்கீடு.

ஆதிதிராவிடர் நலனுக்காக ரூ. 2702.22 கோடி ஒதுக்கீடு, பழங்குடியினர் நலனுக்காக ரூ. 261.66 கோடி ஒதுக்கீடு.
