Second International Yoga Day Celebrations in India
Today second International Yoga Day being celebrated across the world. In India Prime Minister Narendra Modi headed 35000 people by doing Yoga at Chandigarh. 57 Union Ministers had scheduled to take part in different places across the country.
Last year Prime Minister headed nearly 36000 people in New Delhi on the first International Yoga Day event. June 21 was declared as an International Yoga Day by the United Nations General Assembly on December 2014.
This year 135 countries are participating in the celebrations. Many Muslim nations also extended their support to this global event. It is estimated that nearly 50 crores people to participate in the celebration across the world.
Prime Minister wore white clothes with scarf and joined with 36000 people and done Yoga with them in Chandigarh. He said Yoga gives health assurance in zero budgets. He also added it is not a religious practice to get into controversies.
Many minister attended Ramdev lead Yoga session on Sunday for rehearsal. Today nearly one lakh people participated in the yoga session in Faridabad, Delhi lead by Ramdev.
On the occasion of this international day doctors from Tamil Nadu Yoga and Naturopathy will be available for consultations in medical help line 104. People can contact them with queries about the Yoga and various asanas. The service available from 9 am to 5 pm in 32 districts of the state. People can also ask about acupuncture, acupressure, naturopathy and others. Through this 104 help line several people were benefited from last year. They were rescued from wrong decisions including intake of continuous medicine.
Former Governor of Tamil Nadu and Assam Bhishma Narain Singh today on the occasion of International Yoga Day urged Prime Minister Narendra Modi to announce ban on alcohol and tobacco across the country. He said the loss can be compensated by the happiness it gives to crores and crores of family.
