Top Corrupted States In India
According to the survey conducted by the Centre for Media Studies, Karnataka gets first place in most corrupted state and it is followed by Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Maharashtra, Jammu & Kashmir and Punjab. Meanwhile Himachal Pradesh holds top in least corrupted states and Kerala stands 2nd place in minimum corruption.
The Centre for Media Studies had surveyed 20 states in the country and over 3000 households in rural and urban areas.
Around one-third of the households experienced corruption in public services at least once during the last one year. Nearly 77 percent of people is said to be experienced corruption in public services in Karnataka. Andhra Pradesh has 74 percent while Tamil Nadu has 68 percent.
As per the report in 2005, Bihar stood first in corruption by 74 percent followed by Jammu and Kashmir (69 percent), Odhisha (60 percent), Rajasthan (59 percent) and Tamil Nadu (59 percent).
Meantime, more than half of the respondents felt the level of corruption had been decreased at the time of demonetization during November and December last year.
On the other hand, the International Monetary Fund (IMF) believes India will become the world's fourth largest economy in 2022 as the country remains a fastest growing economy in the world. As per IMF forecasts India is growing 9.9 percent a year and will surpass Germany by 2022. and UK will be out of top five after 2017.
